Came for dinner with colleagues. The place was almost empty at 5:30 pm on Sunday evening, surprisingly. There is nice patio seating but we were indoors between the open kitchen and the bar. The menu has a library theme and seems to change monthly. I wanted to eat almost every item, they all sounded delicious. I decided on the fettuccine carbonara, and our table shared an order of Brussels sprouts. My pasta was terrific. The tomato cream sauce was unusual and there was savory bacon and egg in there. I thought the sprouts were great, the sauce was sweet. For dessert I had the brownie. It was topped with a dab of peanut butter mousse and had a couple of whole peanuts scattered around. The brownie was rich and chocolatey with a crisp top crust and gooey interior. I would have liked more of the peanut butter mousse though. I also tried my colleague's bread pudding, very good also. The back of the menu had lots of drink choices but we were "working" so I didn't try any on this visit. A non-alcoholic cocktail or two would be appreciated. Service was attentive and accurate. Our server was on top of bringing drink refills and checking that we were content. There is a big free parking area which can be a problem for other businesses in this area, and I was grateful but also the Lenox MARTA station is not far away. I would certainly return to this restaurant with family or friends.
Came to 7 Lamps for a work dinner with a large group (about 18). They were prompt and efficient in taking our order. I wish they had the space to accommodate us all together, but I understand that they did the best they could. The grilled/broiled oysters were amazing. I'll admit it was my very first experience and a fantastic one. For my main course I had the lamb shank which was succulent and tender. It was pretty good and if I come to Atlanta again I'd consider a return visit.
Seven Lamps will not disappoint. I searched on Yelp around the Buckhead, GA area for a decent "foodie" spot, since I was there for a week's worth of meetings and had a couple of colleagues with me. Ambience was warm, inviting and low-light illuminated inside, for something found in a shopping mall environment - though once you step into Seven Lamps, anything mall-like has vanished - that's a nice touch. Our servers were two young women, one of whom was training with the other - and both were attentive and helpful. Solid start! We ordered an unusual thing to see on a menu: Grilled/roasted oysters - this day they were Blue Point variety. OMG, coulda made a meal just out of this - so tasty, cheesy, smoky and wonderful. A great start. Main entrees for us was a pork shank, carbonara pasta dish, and redfish with an andouille crust. All three were delicious and all three of us were part of the "clean plate club". I will go again & try out more menu items. Worth the $$, cozy place, great service.
A nice interior design that gives a feeling of solidity. The finish in the floors and tables are rubbing off, but it's not a con, because it does give one the feeling that the tables are cleaned often. Server was very pleasant and attentive. Greeted with a smile from all the passing employees except the manager who seemed very intense. Not a problem, just an observation. The greens were quite fresh and the dressing in the side salad was just right - not too heavy, but enough to make one feel they are eating a salad and not a garden. The list of ingredients in the sandwich would lead one to believe that it's overcomplicated and therefore would ruin the flavor. But the truth is the fried cod fish sandwich was very well balanced and flavorful. The only con is that the fish was cooked a little too much making it a little hard and a little dry on the edges. But the overall combination was still good enough to overcome this to give 3-4 stars. The French fries were seasoned with some cheese and seasonings. It wasn't overly salty, but unfortunately it also wasn't super flavorful. One could pass on the fries and not be sad but are good enough to order and not be disappointed. If it weren't for the freshness and crispness of the vegetables this would've probably been a three star review, but since many of the ingredients were fresh and tasty (including the sandwich) it gets a four star. Definitely ok to tryout, just don't have expectations set too high and you won't be disappointed.
I was in Atlanta for work and I had the chance to dine in at Seven Lamps. The space itself is warm and inviting. I came here for an early dinner and so there was plenty of seating but I can see this restaurant filling up, it's more on the smaller end. I did find that the menu is smaller, not a lot of veggies but I did see a couple of vegan options which is nice. Looks like this restaurant has southern flare and that they often switch up their menu. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered their mussels. I enjoyed them, I wasn't a big fan of the smoked sausage but everything else was great.
Seven lamps is a great hidden gem! Their menu is seasonal but everything is cooked to perfection! It's not too pricey and great service. Free parking and overall ambiance is great for a date or intimate conversations with friends!
Great service! I went here for a business dinner and I got the salmon which was cooked perfectly and atop of a bunch of flavorful veggies. We also got the cheese board which had a best pimento cheese I've ever had with a bacon and onion jam on top of it which you spread on warm bread. I hope I have time to go back during my stay! This is nearby the mall as well as many hotels. I also got the guava margarita which was light and refreshing. The ambiance was relaxing and the lighting was soft and calming.
I recently dined at Seven Lamps for a business luncheon with a party of six. Although it was quite hot outside, the restaurant was very accommodating and allowed us to move indoors. The service was excellent; our server was perceptive and considerate, understanding that we were engaged in business discussions and timing her check-ins perfectly. For my meal, I had the green salad with pickled red onions, peppadew peppers, avocado and dill vinaigrette, topped with a few grilled shrimp. It was light, refreshing, and smaller in portion than usual (especially for the price), but I enjoyed it. Others in the group had the quinoa and avocado salad with salmon, the Caesar salad, and the chicken Panini. Everyone seemed satisfied with their dishes. I'll definitely be back, when I'm not too hungry
